SturdyBooks is double-entry bookkeeping built for trades contractors — HVAC, plumbing, electrical and the like — at app.sturdybooks.app. These pages walk you through everything you can do in it: sending invoices and recording payments, entering and paying bills, snapping receipts, closing each month, and reading your reports.

Who this is for

This guide is for the people who keep a contractor’s books: the owner, an office manager or admin, a bookkeeper, and anyone given read-only access (an outside accountant, say). Every page starts with Who it’s for, so you can tell at a glance whether your role can do it.

Your company is set up for you by Sturdy Bid. The owner signs in first with Sturdy ID — the one sign-in for every Sturdy product — and invites everyone else from the Team page.

The examples use a made-up company, Acme HVAC. Your own numbers, customers and vendors will be different.
