September 2026 — Receipts inbox, category suggestions and rules
Section titled “September 2026 — Receipts inbox, category suggestions and rules”- Receipts inbox. Take a photo of a receipt (or choose files), and record it as an expense; the receipt stays on file, linked to the expense. When AI reading is on for your company, SturdyBooks reads the store, date and total for you in the background, warns you when a receipt looks like an expense you’ve already entered, and tells iPhone users how to send a photo it can read. See The receipts inbox.
- Suggest accounts. On bills, expenses and receipts, one click suggests the account for each line — from your rules first, then from AI when it’s on. See Use category suggestions.
- Categorization rules. “This vendor always goes to that account.” Rules work for every company, with or without AI, and SturdyBooks offers to make one when you’ve filed the same vendor the same way three times. See Make a categorization rule.
AI suggestions and receipt reading are switched on per company by Sturdy Bid; everything else is on for everyone.
